Senayan City
A Monumental Civic Space
Senayan City is a mixed-use development in the heart of Senayan, a commercial, entertainment and residential districts in Jakarta. This project integrates an eight-storey shopping podium with three connected towers containing hotel, office, and residential programmes.
Senayan City’s retail podium is designed to navigate among many scales. At its heart, a seven-storey retail atrium provides a monumental civic space. From its landings, one can view shops and the movement of their shoppers at every level.

The 120,000sqm retail podium performs as the development’s dynamic core. Its form communicates an internal blending of two converging, asymmetrically curved masses. These forms are accentuated by the façade as a convergence of opaque and transparent claddings, a moment of transition which marks the location of the main entrance and the vehicular drop-off point. Curves continue to the interior, shaping a central atrium and shopping corridors.
Each of Senayan City’s programmatic elements is designed to respond to the city and communicate internal function. The apartment and hotel blocks are oriented to face the golf course, while offices are situated with primary views directed toward the commercial streets. Shear glass façades mark the hotel and office towers, and the residential structure is articulated in form to suggest the scale of domestic living units.
