Sky Gardens
Urban outdoor living
The term ‘bungalow’ originates from the Hindi language as a ‘home in the Bengal style.’ It is a typology that has assumed many forms, evolving originally from a detached, low-rise residence with a wide veranda that provided inhabitants with large outdoor spaces. As bungalows in the sky, Sky Gardens aligns with certain aspects of these historical references.
The 20-storey project is sited within a region of India’s Garden City, Bengaluru, rich in vegetation with uncompromised views of the city.

Providing each luxurious apartment with an expansive terrace played a critical role in shaping the project’s architecture. Terraces alternate between building faces on each floor, shifting in orientation and providing each apartment with a double-height outdoor space. These terraces dominate the façade and support a distinct building identity.

Double-volume outdoor spaces allow light and air to permeate through the whole body of the 5,000sf (465sqm) apartments. As each terrace holds a garden with enough soil to permit rich landscaping, horizontal and vertical lines emerge as the defining feature of the project as a whole – deep terraces provide the space to accommodate soil and the growth of plants, and disengaged structural columns support the additional weight of these terraces.
