Neo Soho

Diversity of programmes and spaces

A large-scale development comprising a 6-storey shopping mall, a 10-storey car park, a 26-storey SOHO tower and a 3-storey business school integrated within a 30-storey office tower, consideration has been given to the concentration of the building’s mass, which generates generous public space for interaction and gathering.

This development features SOHO units, a hybrid of residential and commercial office space under one roof.  Although SOHO is a relatively new building typology in Jakarta, a large percentage of people in Jakarta actually engaged in small home-based business.  This prevalent existing mixed-used pattern has been reinterpreted in SOHO @ Podomoro City.

SOHO @ Podomoro City brings together varied building programmes, public spaces and natural landscapes. It can be considered a continuation of the successful Central Park development, which also sits within the Podomoro City master plan, and was designed by DP Architects and completed in 2011.
A pedestrian bridge, Eco Sky Walk, connects SOHO @ Podomoro City to Central Park.
The curved media façade with its vibrant visual displays strengthens the complex’s position as a gateway to the city centre.
A diversity of spaces, from commercial, residential, recreational to educational, provide the complex with an unmistakable identity within the greater urban context.

Conceived as the gateway to a greater metropolitan region along Jalan S Parman Highway in western Jakarta, and adjacent to the important Jalan Tol Pluit-Tomang area connecting the airport to downtown Jakarta, the curved LED media façade of the shopping mall could be visible from the main roads.  It interacts with the surroundings and strengthens the formation as a gateway to the city centre through digital displays and visual interfaces.

A pedestrian bridge, named Eco Sky Walk, stretches 210m across Podomoro Avenue, enhancing interconnectivity and pedestrian flow with Central Park.  The entire complex is a three-dimensional urban space, in which buildings both under and above the ground, central public spaces, green terraces and roof gardens are fused together.
